The third edition of the ASML Summer Games is coming: this year with Valkenswaard joining
The third edition of the ASML Summer Games is coming! This summer sports and activity program for children aged 6 to 13 will return from July 13 to August 19, 2026, in five municipalities in the Brainport region. During this period, children can once again participate free of charge in dozens of sports and play activities in their own neighborhood.
After the first edition in 2024, the program was extended by three years. Since then, the number of participating municipalities has grown. Following Helmond, Eindhoven, and Veldhoven (2024) and Geldrop-Mierlo (2025), Valkenswaard is joining this year. Just like last year, various Brabant (former) elite athletes will provide a range of clinics. They will also be present at the annual sports festival, which traditionally serves as the spectacular closing event of the program and includes a performance by a well-known artist, a healthy lunch, and of course numerous sports clinics.
Everyone can participate
The ASML Summer Games are for all children, regardless of background, disability, or financial situation. This year, extra attention has been given to accessibility and inclusivity. Thanks in part to Uniek Sporten Brabant, there will be a weekly sports day over five weeks in a different municipality, where children with a disability or chronic condition can try out the full range of sports activities in one go. Children who prefer smaller groups or need additional guidance are also welcome to join. The fixed schedule helps limit travel distances and creates clear, low-threshold opportunities for this target group to participate.
Club life is thriving
The Summer Games also offer a great opportunity for local sports providers. For five weeks, the clinics will be organized by the sports clubs themselves: the first three weeks in the neighborhood and then at their own locations. In this way, sports clubs can reach new young participants, promote their organization, and grow their membership base.
