ASML Summer Games continue
The ASML Summer Games will expand significantly in the coming years across the Brainport region. Following the successful first edition in 2024, which saw more than 1,200 children take part, the program will continue for at least three more years. The aim? To get even more children moving and discovering the joy of sport — in a fun and accessible way, both during and after the summer holidays.
Four municipalities in 2025, aiming for ten by 2027
In 2025, the ASML Summer Games will take place in Eindhoven, Veldhoven, Helmond, and Geldrop-Mierlo. The program continues to grow, with the goal of being active in ten municipalities by 2027. Potential future locations include Deurne, Cranendonck, and Nuenen.
“We launched the ASML Summer Games last year to help more children experience sport,” says Marjolein de Hooge, Head of Community Engagement at ASML. “Over the next three years, we’re continuing on that path. Because sport isn’t just healthy — it also helps children grow socially.”
A summer full of free sports and fun
This year’s edition will run from 7 July to 13 August. Children aged 6 to 13 can register for free starting 2 June at 3:00 PM. Special attention will be given to children from families with limited financial resources, who are actively invited to take part. Research shows that these children are less likely to participate in sports and often stay home during the summer holidays.
During the Summer Games, children will explore different sports, play on local playgrounds and fields, and later visit nearby sports clubs. They’ll also be supported in finding a sport they enjoy and a club that suits them. If membership fees or sports equipment are a barrier, Stichting Leergeld can help make participation possible.
Surprise visits from top athletes
To give kids an extra boost of motivation, several well-known athletes from Brabant will make surprise visits throughout the program — offering inspiration and a fun moment to remember.
“The pilot last year was a great success with 1,200 participants,” says Michel Reinders, Director of BrabantSport. “Children get to discover what suits them, and that’s exactly what we aim for.”
