New setup for adapted sports at the ASML Summer Games

Adapted sports within the ASML Summer Games are aimed at children who, due to a physical, intellectual, sensory, or behavioral limitation, cannot easily participate in regular sports activities. Children who prefer to exercise and play sports in smaller groups or with more personal attention can also sign up for the adapted sports program. The goal is to enable them to participate in sports safely, enjoyably, and in a way that suits their individual abilities.

A new setup in 2026
To better support these children, adapted sports within the ASML Summer Games will be reorganized in 2026. The various clinics will be offered in a clear and structured way during weekly adapted sports days: in one municipality, on a fixed day, and at a single location.

This approach provides calm, clarity, and consistency for participants, parents, and sports providers. Children get to try different sports in small groups, with extra guidance and in a safe environment. This allows every child to participate at their own pace. With adapted sports, we aim to offer every child with a disability a place where they feel welcome and comfortable. The focus is on long-term participation in sports and creating an accessible and recognizable sports offering in the region.

Focus on the child
In adapted sports, the focus is not on performance, but on enjoyment and development. Children are allowed to make mistakes, experience no performance pressure, and are not compared to others. Coaches take different types of disabilities into account and adapt their approach accordingly.

Together, we make sure everyone can participate
With this new setup, the ASML Summer Games take an important step toward a more inclusive sports offering. By working together with sports providers and parents, we ensure that children can not only participate, but also enjoy themselves and continue to develop through sports.
